Why did 40% of my shares disappear the moment they vested?

Hi everyone,

I logged into my benefits portal this morning and was shocked to see a massive chunk of my shares already gone. I realized it was for taxes, but I’m still trying to find out exactly how much tax on rsu vesting is considered "normal" for someone living in a high-tax city.

It feels like a huge loss before I even get to see the money in my account. Does anyone have a simple guide or tool to estimate how much tax on rsu vesting?
